FPV Racing Seattle presents High-Speed Drone Copter Racing in Virgil Flaim Park. This adrenaline-pumping sport combines tech and competition into an unbelievable fury.
FPV Racing Seattle is holding a 2S-class exhibition drone race at Virgil Flaim Park, 2700 NE 123rd St, Seattle, WA 98125 on August 3 as part of the Lake City Festival – come racers, come spectators and watch us tear around a course throughout the day.
Those who are new this to this might ask: what is drone racing? For a nice visual answer, watch this: https://youtu.be/SKTpeR0-pKc
Our pilots fly First Person View (FPV) drones remotely, zooming around a 3D course at up to 50kmph! Everyone is welcome to watch from the sidelines, and we’ll be streaming the view from each drone to a screen for those who can watch (without getting sick).
Spectators will not be allowed on the course, but need not worry for safety – these drones cannot hurt anyone and they are fully human-controlled.
PLUS – Spectators will be able to get “hands-on” in a demonstration area. It’s your chance to pilot a drone yourself – for free – wearing first-person goggles!
This is a race in our 2019 2S Festival Series – please enter a drone according to our spec, and remember, points scored go towards the season total. All skill levels are welcome. Course setup is 8am, controlled practice at 9am, with racing starting at 11am, and going until 4pm.
Entry fee: $5 for members, $10 for non-members.
